NBC Thursday

NBC needs to rearrange the deck chairs soon. Must-See-TV is a dim memory, something like the time between the heyday of Flip Wilson (followed by the Waltons lull) and the arrival of Cosby. A breakout comedy like Friends is needed and it probably isn't My Name is Earl, though it would do better than Joey.

My programming strategies class thinks Earl is the short-time solution. I'm wondering if it isn't time to resurrect the old Stop the Music format and bribe people to watch. It would be compelling counterprogramming to Alias and Survivor.
